We spent a few days on Skye.  It’s a beautiful place.  We stayed at the C&C Club site on the banks of Loch Greshornish at Edinbane.  Probably not the cheapest campsite in the world, but incredibly well kept and the wardens were very helpful when it came to getting Betty Bus fixed.

During our Stay on Skye we visited Portree (great cake shop, pretty harbour), toured the north east corner, wandered over the Old Man of Storr.

Stopped at Kilt Rock.

We tried the north west corner, walked around Dunvegan Head,

visited Dunvegan Castle,

and walked on coral beaches.

We spent a day in the Cuillins and visited the fairy pools,

went to the most westerly bit, Neist Point…

and had dinner there at the bestest restaurant on the island…

and drove around lots of coastal roads.

Applecross to Skye, Disaster!

After a day in and around the beautiful Applecross, it was time to head to the Isle of Skye, via the bridge.  We headed back around the coastal road.  It’s a stunning drive.

We made it all the way to Skye, just not quite as far as the campsite…

The people who live on Skye are brilliant.  So many people stopped to ask if we were okay or needed anything.  One guy offered to tow us to the campsite, but the lorry was already on it’s way by then.

A piece of the offending fan belt.
